At Youth Works we provide counselling and support to promote emotional wellbeing in children and young people aged 11 to 18 years (or 25 years for clients with special educational needs and / or disabilities if they are accessing mainstream state funded school or college).  We work predominantly with young people in Corby, Kettering and the surrounding villages.

What is counselling and emotional wellbeing support?

Counselling and emotional wellbeing support provides an opportunity to talk about problems and feelings in a safe, confidential environment. This can be in the form of counselling sessions or a weekly drop-in service.  It can help with:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • self-harm
  • eating disorders
  • bereavement
  • abuse
  • bullying
  • low self-esteem
  • relationship problems

Our Counsellors and Therapeutic Intervention Practitioners are trained to listen with empathy, to help clients deal with negative thoughts and feelings and to provide guidance, enabling them to resolve problems and make positive changes. A range of approaches may be used to support clients, including person centred counselling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Our team also provide a number of activity groups such as or Kettering or Corby LGBTQI+ groups, SEND group, Waste Knot or our Board Game Group.
